Revisiting
Posted on: 05/02/2023 07:45 PM

I've recently went back and pulled out the old vinyl albums and re listening to them. I have to admit Way back when I didn't really care for Alibi. Now I'm in love with it. Every track is awesome not a weak song on there. The first three needs no comment because I always thought they were great. Not sure which one I'll dig out next but I'll post when I do.

I, too, think "Alibi" is a wonderful album. Definitely one of my favorites from the duo era. After purchasing it, I surely thought America would be back on the charts with a few of its songs. It was a real disappointment when it turned out to be a commercial flop which I still don't understand to this day. This is regarding the album cover. I saw some years later that another group (unknown to me back then and I don't remember their name) used the exact image. It was quite surprising.

I've now completed listening to every album twice. I will list , in my opinion the best cut from each. Excluding the 1st 3 albums. While I still believe their best work was when Dan was still in the group, there are so many great cuts in all their albums. Hopefully after I post my picks we can have a nice discussion on every ones choice. They should've had so many more top 10 hits. I think their marketing should have been better. Stay well everyone.
